Ensuring engineering professionals are competent and committed (section header)

Professional registration provides a benchmark through which society can have confidence and trust that registered engineers and technicians have met our globally-recognised professional Standards.

To achieve professional registration in the UK, an individual must demonstrate that they have achieved the required level of competence and are committed to maintaining that competence through continuing professional development.

They must also demonstrate that they are committed to acting with integrity and global responsibility to live up to the trust society places in the engineering profession. (Body text)

Professional titles (paragraph header)

There are currently nearly 223,000 people professionally registered as:

  • Engineering Technician (EngTech)
  • Incorporated Engineer (IEng)
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng)
  • Information and Communications Technology Technician (ICTTech) (Bullet list)

In order to gain these titles applicants first join a relevant professional engineering institution licensed by the Engineering Council to assess candidates.

TEST CONTENT

Testing: Full width

Wide banner heading here.

Demonstrate that you have the competence and commitment required to succeed as an engineering professional.

This a 'wide banner' in a full width section - so would be expecting this to be full page width (ie, the image to go right to the edge of the screen at both sides, while the text remains nicely aligned. It seems to work fine on the homepage but not here?

Same styling issues apply here.

It basically looks like this has not really been designed. Can the font size be adjusted to feel more like the Hero carousel? Not matching exactly - it needs to be less Hero than the Hero carousel, but more Hero than it currently is.

Testing: Spotlights

Reg manual heading 2

(Manual) Demonstrate your competence and commitment to get on in your career and live up to the trust society is placing in engineering professionals.

About Professional Registration Card

What is the character limit for a pod heading? Ideally it would be one line, whereas feed display would be two lines

Pods will primarily be used for navigation purposes. They will tend to be dark blue, whereas feed display items will be light blue. They are ways of drawing attention to stuff buried deeper in the site.

About Professional Registration Card

This is a pod title with a link >

The pod currently shows the top half on an image only. The spotlight currently shows the right hand side of an image only. This means the same image cannot work for both. The image should be landscape, with no overlaid text.

Pod headings will generally be a single bold line

Followed by five lines of text.
